Samantha and Paul

This is a wedding close to my heart because the lovely Bride Samantha is someone I have known for many years through a mutual friend. In fact, I got to know Sam on said friends hen do in Ibiza 9 years ago, where her pocket sized stature resulted in a promise to dress her up as a Brownie on her own hen do whenever that may occur. Years later that promise was indeed fulfilled, and with much enthusiasm from her faithful hens!

I started the day at Sam and Pauls home in Hemel Hempstead where Sam, her 2 daughters Bella and Emily, and the bridal party were getting ready. Hair, makeup, bubbles and food - the 4 essential ingredients for wedding prep.

Once Sam was securely zipped into her dress, I dashed off to the church to get a few photos with Paul and the groomsmen before the ceremony. My assistant for the day, Mia, met me at the church and started taking photos of the guests arriving. After the ceremony, it was outside for group photos and then off to The Hollybush in St Albans for the reception.

Over at the Hollybush, it was turning into a beautiful sunny afternoon and the BBQ was soon on the go. The beautifully manicured beer garden was a perfect backdrop for the speeches and joviality you would expect from such a happy occasion. Mia and I clicked away happily, capturing candid images of the happy couple and their guests.

The cutting of the cake and first dance followed, then it was time for us to go, leaving the newlyweds and their guests to dance the night away and drink the bar dry.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Higgins! Thank you for choosing me to record your fabulous, love fuelled, emotional and truly brilliant day 😊
