Mark and Kirsty - A Story Unfolding...
Mark and Kirsty’s Story – from Engagement, to Wedding, to Newborn
My first ever booking came from an old friend, Mark, who I hadn’t seen for about 17 years. Our Art college days were longer ago than either of us cared to remember! He and his lovely lady Kirsty had got engaged and were planning their wedding when I started out my new career as a wedding photographer. We agreed this was perfect timing for all of us and even knowing that I was just starting out Mark and Kirsty were willing to take a risk on a newbie, something I’m very grateful for! As they were getting married in Slovenia in June 2014, I was needed to photograph the UK reception a week later.
We braved a bitterly cold and windy day in April to do an engagement shoot at Houghton House in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. I turned up with my sketches of couples poses to try and we spent an hour or so in the freezing cold, it was so worth it as we got some beautiful pictures that day.
On 20th June 2014 Mark and Kirsty tied the knot in Bled, Slovenia. Eight days later on 28th June they got to do it all over again at one of the most quintessentially English countryside venues I've ever had the pleasure of photographing, the very picturesque Eversholt Hall in Bedfordshire. It was a fantastic day full of love and laughter.
And then there were 3...
Nearly 18 months later the gorgeous Jasper Caleb was born! I was so pleased to capture this incredibly
special life stage for Mark and Kirsty. These 2 (now 3) people will always be close to my heart as not only my very first booking but also the first time I’ve been there to witness and document the unfolding of a new family story.
